Privacy notice
Last updated 19 October 2026. This explains what SquadPad collects, why, who can see it and the choices you have. We've written it in plain English.
Who we are
SquadPad is a club app for grassroots football, run by the SquadPad team in Ireland. A club uses SquadPad to run its teams. For the information a club keeps about its members and players, the club decides what is collected and why, and SquadPad looks after it on the club's behalf. For your SquadPad account itself (how you sign in), SquadPad is responsible.
Contact us at hello@squadpad.io. For anything about your club's records, you can also ask your club directly.
What we collect
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Your account: name, email address, and how you sign in (password, email code, Sign in with Apple or Google) | To let you in and keep your account secure. |
| Your role in the club (coach, parent, administrator) and your teams | To show you the right things and keep everything else private. |
| A child's details, entered by a parent or the club: name, date of birth, team | To run the team. Teammates and other parents see only what the club and parent allow; a child's date of birth is never shown to other members. |
| A child's player card choices: shirt, backdrop, a few closed-choice answers, and an optional photo | The child's own card. A photo is only used where a parent has given that specific permission, and it can be withdrawn. |
| Team activity: fixtures, training, availability replies, attendance, lifts, kit lists, match-day plans | To organise the week. |
| Messages between adults in the club's chat, and announcements | Club communication. Children have no access to adult chat. |
| Club administration: documents and the responses to them, fees and payments you report, volunteer rotas, safeguarding records the club is required to keep | To run the club properly. Sensitive records are limited to the people the club designates. |
| Coaching content: session plans, drills and notes | To plan and run training. |
| Device information for notifications (a push token), and basic technical logs | To send the notifications you choose and keep the service working. |
We don't sell personal information, we don't show advertising, and we don't build profiles of children. SquadPad has no public rankings or leaderboards for players.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers, each only for the job listed:
- Supabase: the database, sign-in, file storage and server functions. Data is stored in the European Union (Frankfurt).
- Apple: delivering push notifications, and Sign in with Apple if you use it.
- Google: Sign in with Google if you use it, and an optional AI helper coaches can use to draft a drill. Before a coach's words go to the AI helper, names are removed; no child's details are sent.
- Resend: sending emails such as sign-in codes, reminders and club announcements.
How long we keep it
Information is kept while your account or your child's place at the club is active. An adult can close their account from the app: it is scheduled to close after seven days (so a mistake can be undone) and the personal details are then removed. A club can remove a player, which erases their personal details. Some records a club must keep by law (for example certain safeguarding or financial records) are kept for the time the law requires, then deleted.
Children
Children use SquadPad through an account set up and controlled by a parent or guardian. Children can't message adults, can't see other children's private details, and choose from set options rather than typing free text. Parents decide what is shared about their child with the team, and can change it at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how it's used, or to take a copy. Parents can do this for their children. Email hello@squadpad.io. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie).
Security
Access is checked on our servers for every request, by your role and your club. Connections are encrypted. Sensitive records have extra restrictions on who can open them.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app.
